About Web Porch Point

The desk behind the reviews

Sunlit gym interior with rigs and open floor

Web Porch Point began after two years of standing in Malaysian gyms watching members unlock a brand-new training app, complete the welcome circuit, and then never mark another session. The owners were not careless. The welcome circuit was simply the only workout that lived on the first screen.

We are not a software house. We are three people who have coached, worked reception, and sat with completion exports until the skipped Thursday made a pattern. Our name is odd on purpose; it came from the covered porch outside a Sentosa shophouse gym where we first compared a paper logbook with the app’s “streak” count and found they disagreed by nine sessions.

How we work

We borrow a staff login, we follow a beginner pack with the sound off, and we ask permission before watching a member’s thumbs. We write in English. We will quote Malay copy when that is what the member sees. We prefer a Tuesday morning floor visit because the 6 a.m. pack has already told the truth and the evening rush has not yet rewritten it.

Malaysia is the whole working map. The office is in Johor Bahru because that is where we live and where the first studios trusted us with reception iPads. Kuala Lumpur and Penang reviews happen by video from the same desk.

What we will not pretend

We do not hold a laboratory certification in “human factors.” We do hold years of watching people fail to find the substitute session after a public holiday. That is the credential the work requires.
